A stalled frontal boundary across northern Virginia will instigate showers and storms this afternoon with the aid of daytime heating. Severe weather is not anticipated in our area, but frequent lightning and gusty winds will be possible. Areas along/south of US-460 have the best chance of seeing rainfall today, due to the greatest instability residing there. Any convection begins to weaken after sunset, before dissipating overnight.
